On behalf of the Governors and Staff of The Lord Silkin School, I welcome this opportunity to present our school to you. Our moto 'Working together for success' underpins our basic philosophy. We believe that success is important to all students whatever their ability and we aim to ensure that they can achieve the highest possible standards in all aspects of school life. Your child deserves the best in order to be the best. We accept the trust and responsibiilty that you place upon us and encourage you to play an active part in your child's education. The coming years offer excitement and challenge and I urge you to grasp every opportunity to work with us. As well as valuing success in examinations we encourage students to participate in a wide range of cultural and sporting activities. Personal, social and health education is equally important to us as it helps young people develop the skills and sense of values, which enable them to take a positive role in the community. Education for everday life takes place both within and outside school and we realise the needs to relate all we teach to the society of today and the challenges of tomorrow.
